Bouvier des Flandres
Each free-standing, hand-made sculpture designed by Dawn Mickel exhibit the motion and expression unique to each creature. Made from heavy gauge sheet copper, the piece is "colored" with a blowtorch and the color is then fixed with polyurethane, so the sculpture requires little or no maintenance.

About the artist:
From their Black Cat studio in Front Royal, Virginia, John and Dawn have created wonderful animal sculptures from solid copper. Each piece is hand drawn on a copper sheet then cut out with a micro-band saw. Individual pieces are then welded together to form three-dimensional sculptures. The vibrant colors are achieved by heating the copper with a torch to varying degrees, a unique skill that John has perfected over the past 30 years. A final protective surface coat assures the colors will remain indefinitely. Creations Gallery is happy to donate a portion of the profits from the sale of all Black Cat copper animals to the Delaware Humane Association to further its animal rescue and adoption efforts.
