Scott's interest in glass developed at an early age with a visit to the Corning Glass Museum. His arts training began as a film student at Ithaca College in New York and continued at Columbia College in Chicago. Scott's fascination with fine art glass began in 1996 with a subsequent visit to the Corning Glass Museum. In May of 1996, Scott was hired to work with Charles Lotton of the famed Lotton Art Glass studio. While apprenticing with Charles, Scott's drive and talent were recognized and encouraged. On Thanksgiving Day, 1999, Scott created his first Calla Lily paperweight. In the years since, Scott has developed highly personalized techniques that make his calla lily, orchid, rose, columbine and hibiscus floral designs beautiful, unique and collectible.
