We first met Gary in Bedford, Virginia where he was finishing
up an apprenticeship with M. T. Maxwell Furniture Company. With a previous
background in design and furniture construction and with the added experience
of teaching woodworking at a high school in Sandusky, Ohio, Gary felt
the Maxwell experience would better prepare him for establishing his own
business. While in Bedford, Gary had already begun building his own designs
that he would eventually debut at the Philadelphia Furniture Show.
After completing his apprenticeship, Gary and his wife moved back to
Ohio where they moved into an 1800's farmhouse with plenty of land for
Gary's new workshop that was completed in 2001. His furniture pieces are
as functional as they are appealing characterized by clean lines and hand-selected
figured cherry.
